We have a talker in the family! She may not run around like other 15-month-olds, and she may be difficult to put to bed, but she eats well and talks, talks, talks, talks, talks! Today, Abbie was especially verbose, so I took a moment to try to write down her vocabulary. Most of these words were used today (with 80-95% accuracy), although perhaps not all. There may be others, but this is what I came up with:
Animal Sounds
Meow (her favorite!)
Baa
Cak (for Quack)
Neigh
Keek (for Squeak)
*sniff* (supposed to be SSSS, but she got confused!)
Moo
Peep
Animals
Kitty Cat
Pish (Fish)
Brown Bear
Monkey
Bundy (Bunny)
Turtle
Body Parts
Toes
Beet (Feet)
Knee
Nose
Tin (Chin)
Keet (Cheek)
Eye
Neck
Teeph (Teeth)
Bunton (as in Belly Button)
Arm
Hand
Actions
'Gain (as in "Do it again!")
Cap (Clap)
Bounce/Bouncy
Up
Muh (as in "Please give me more")
G'down (Get down)
Wuk (Walk)
Hug
Kiss
Phrases
Bye-Bye, G'bye
G'day (this one is really funny... she sometimes sounds like an Aussie!)
Hungy (as in "I'm hungry")
All Done
Nighty-Nighty
Okay
Misc. Vocab
Book
Baby
Na-too (Water)
Potty
Bub (Bib)
Nap
Bat (Bath)
Ky (Sky)
Bye-doo (Spider; also remarkably similar to Diaper)
Da-Da/Daddy
Muh/Mommy
Gampa
In addition, she fairly accurately identifies or responds to these:
Hair
Ears
Belly
Tongue
So Big!
"Where is the sky?" ... Up!
"How old are you?" ... Un! (one)
I feel like she's picking up 1-2 words per day at this point, and it is so much fun to see her grow in this area! I'm incredibly fortunate to be able to be a part of such a special time in her life!
