This Sunday, my dad turned the big 6-0! We spent the weekend in Charlotte to celebrate and, of course, to give Dad a hard time, which he took like the good sport he is. The celebration started Friday night with ribs and cheesecake. On Saturday, we took Abbie on her first boat ride and had a "can-you-stand-up-on-your-raft-in-the-lake?" competition, and we finished off the weekend with a big family lunch at Brio Tuscan Grille on Sunday.
I can't believe my dad is 60, though. It seems like we used to view such as an age as OLD and I imagined all 60 yr-olds to look like grandparents. Well, Dad is a grandparent, but I don't think he looks that old. Nonetheless, we gave him some good ribbing this weekend, including an awesome cane with some old-guy attachments: and over the hill xing sign, a little horn, a pill bottle, some dentures, and a squeaky bottom that makes noise with each step. Silly, I know, but we had fun!
There are lots of great pictures from this weekend, but I'll try to limit it to a few here:
