Laundry Overload

If you're thinking of having a baby any time soon, you'd better invest in a really good washer and dryer. Lord knows, you'll be using it... a lot!

I honestly did not believe Amy 7 months ago when she told me I'd be doing laundry all the time. I am very much a do-laundry-once-a-week kind of girl. We let everything pile up, and then I spend one day, usually on the weekend, washing everything, separating dryer and hang-dry stuff, and folding it all to put away. One day of misery and it's done! Well, not anymore!

When Abbie first came home, I was sure that things were going to stay the same in the laundry department. She wasn't pooping large quantities, and she wasn't eating enough to make her spit-up unmanageable. As she has grown, however, I've noticed that I'm doing more and more laundry. The "accidents" are happening more frequently, and they have to be washed right away or you can kiss those clothes, sheets, and pad and pillow covers goodbye!

It also doesn't help that, for the past 2 months, I've been wearing the same 5 shirts and few skirts and pants over and over and over again. Nothing else fits. Until recently, I also only had 2 "outfits" I could wear to the gym, which doesn't smell so good if you want to go to the gym 4 or 5 days a week! So, I also throw in an extra load mid-week for myself. I think people appreciate it if I don't reek when I go out.

In the past 4 days alone, I've done laundry... oh... EVERYDAY! Seriously, I think it's time for a break! Although, I'm not sure it's really going to get any better until Abbie reaches about 6th grade. By then, she'll be done using diapers, spitting up, spilling food, and playing in the dirt. Only 11 years of laundry to go!!
