Singin' -- oops -- Ridin' in the rain!

This morning we went out for a bike ride with Team Shedrick (aka Cindy and Dominic). They are on crazy personal training regimens, and today Tony and I were "along for the ride". Today we were slated for a 3-hour ride -- good practice for our 75-miler next weekend.
We packed up and left Durham at 7AM to drive out to Holly Springs and it began to sprinkle. I got nervous, because the last weather report I had seen said we weren't supposed to get rain until this evening. Well, it stopped by the time we got on the highway, only to start again just as we pulled into the town of Holly Springs. But, Cindy had checked the radar and Dom claimed the major rain was further north and we wouldn't be affected.
So, we headed out around 8:15am and within 10 minutes of starting our ride... you guessed it... it rained! OK, not just ANY rain... a serious downpour! I went from "ack there's a drop on my glasses" to "OH MY GOD I CAN'T SEE"! We were completely soaked, helmet to cleats!
But, the rain held off for most of the rest of the ride and we finished in 3 hours, 6 minutes, riding about 50 miles. I looked disgusting when we pulled in... covered in sweat and dirt, and still dripping rain!
It was a good wake up call for me as this was my 3rd ride since breaking my arm. I felt sore, and tired, but I'm really glad I did it. Can't wait for next weekend when all of Team Ameriprise will be riding in the Jimmy V ride!
