Last week I got the itch to paint one of the guest rooms and bathroom upstairs. Tony helped me pick out colors... we decided on pastel green/seafoam and moonlit yellow. The bathroom wasn't too bad. It took a few hours though, because there is so much cutting in to do around the cabinets, mirror, shower, and toilet. Ugh, the toilet! They are impossible to paint around!
The bedroom was a bit easier, but we had gambled that a gallon of paint would be enough for this room, and I started to worry by the time I got to wall #3. Well, as you can see, I used EVERY LAST DROP of paint -- even scraped out the bucket with a brush and painted it onto the roller for the last little patch of wall.
Chrissy had her spay/declaw surgery on Monday. I felt horrible taking her in and putting her through this, but I know it's for the best. She lives indoors and with a cat that's already declawed. And, our county strongly encourages spaying (we pay half the annual fee if she's spayed). Plus, we don't intend to have more kitties running around anytime soon. I think Tony would kill me! :)
Here's Chrissy before going to the vet... she wanted to play in the dryer.
Here's my sad little baby this morning with her soft collar to keep her from picking at her incision and stitches.
Chrissy snuggled up in my arms for an hour on the couch this morning. I had to rock her to sleep because she was so nervous when she came home. Now, she's sleeping on the bed and I think I'll keep her there while I go to work...
...Which brings me to another "tidbit". I got a bomb dropped on me this morning. Susan (our new part-time Chorus teacher) called to say that she's decided to resign her position. OMG! We haven't even started school yet, but now there's only 2 weeks left to get this worked out! I do feel bad for her because my principal sold the job as 50% and we found it's really 67%+ (you qualify for benefits at 70% employment). So, she was having to fight for pay and benefits, and of course Chorus requires much more work than a regular part-time job... the work is never really done, and there's always something going on outside of the workday... performances, fundraising, music study. Sooooooo, I feel pretty slammed right now and a bit hopeless. I'm begging my principal for some time in his BUSY week to meet and work this out. He just got the email this morning, so we'll see. Anybody know a Chorus teacher looking for a job and ready to start right away?? Help!!
OK, so time to head into work and get my life straightened out. But, before I go, here is a little entertainment for the day. Dad sent me a Dementia Test, which I sadly failed. I didn't miss everything, but you have to get a 70% to pass! While I do not believe my dad wrote this, it does include his style of test sarcasm. Enjoy! Try to scroll so that you keep your answers covered. NO CHEATING!
Dementia Test
