Weekend performances

We enjoyed some fun afternoon activities this weekend. On Saturday, we went to see Disney on Ice at the PNC Arena. Thanks to Tony's office being just across the street from the arena, we escaped the $20 parking fee, then enjoyed 3rd row seats to see all of the Disney characters. Seeing Jason's excitement as he was in the edge of his seat throughout the show made it all the more special.
That evening, we all donned our PJs, ate pizza and snuggled up to watch Little Women, a family favorite.

On Sunday, Abbie's dance studio had their holiday performance. The show was even better than last year, and it was awesome to see how the children have improved over the year. I love that this studio, OpenArts, is truly a studio for the community. The director, Ms. Maia, makes it clear that she welcomes everyone and she makes dance absolutely fun for all. It's not about drilling skills, but rather learning skills while celebrating being awesome kids. She gets them involved in community festivals and projects to give back. She also goes out of her way to limit the excessive fees for costumes where possible. It's laid back and so much fun. I just loved watching the kids do their thing! Plus, she made the holiday performance into several shorter shows, so 35 minutes and we were done. Jason loved that, too! ;-)
Here are the videos of Abbie's two groups:
