End of the preschool chapter

It's official. I no longer have a preschooler in my house. The end came fast a furious with lots of celebratory events for Jason. We attended a wonderful music performance by all of the 4-year old classes, a picnic at Bond Park, and a "red carpet" awards ceremony for Jason's Rock Star class. Oh, and we had donuts for breakfast on the last day of school. Cuz, why not?!? 

The music performance was really cute. I took several videos. But truly, my favorite was the preview Jason gave me the night before.

At Jason's class awards ceremony, the teachers laid out a red carpet for their Rock Stars and called each one up individually to recognize them for a special trait. Jason's was "Best Factual Story Teller" for all of the great stories he tells the class about things he did over the weekend and plans we have for cool trips. He always included lots of details (whether they're all true or not!) and the class enjoyed hearing them. 

I thought it was so awesome how the teachers made every kid feel special. They also gave the kids photo memory books, trophy rock guitars, and some fun toys to start off the summer.  We had a fantastic year, and Jason has already said several times how much he misses his teachers.

Kindergarten tour is on Wednesday. And so we will start a new chapter for Jason. I think he is excited and a little nervous, but he takes comfort in knowing that his big sister will be there to guide him as he learns the ropes.
