Christmas

Here's a little recap of Christmas in Charlotte and some pictures to share. Tony and I went down to my parents' house and celebrated Christmas 3 times this past week! We all had a good time, including the cats...

Roxie and Lucky

We had an early Christmas dinner with my mom's family on Saturday, because they all flew out on Sunday to Phoenix to see my mom's other two sisters and my cousins, Megan and Kara.

**Shout out to Megan who has been accepted to Duke University!!**

Sunday we visited with Laura B, who is recovering from heart surgery, and her mom. Laura seems to be doing very well. It's amazing to me that just 1 week after her surgery she is up an moving about, eating normally, and seeming happy. I guess youth and good health can do wonders for recovery.

We also saw National Treasure 2 on Sunday with Anna. Tony thinks it was cheesy to some extent, but what can you expect from a Disney flick? I enjoyed it. Worth seeing, though maybe worth waiting until it's out on DVD.

Christmas Eve was a fun gathering of the Ahlstrom Clan at Gary and Susan's house. We spent quite a bit of time upstairs watching/playing pool. Plus, we ate plenty, including Susan's famous white bean dip and mom's super-indulgent cheesecake with raspberry sauce! Here are a couple of pix from the pool room...

Christmas morning, I was rudely awakened in the early hours by Tony, who just could not wait another minute for the day to begin. Who knew he was such a kid about Christmas?? He woke up the whole house by singing "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" in his best operatic voice!

Christmas morning, before opening presents

Mom made a delicious crabcake dinner for the family, including Grandma, Gary, Susan, and Anna. Things got a little more lively than usual as we broke out Catch Phrase and Twister for some fun Christmas entertainment. Here are some of the highlights (btw- I wasn't allowed to put in some of the best due to excessive exposure of backsides!)...

Anna, the experienced college Catch Phrase player

Grandma, giving a classic clue... it goes something like this: "I am ______"

Answer: "Alive" Clearly!! :)

A ghost from the past says sounds like fun. I keep going places in this forsaken town with so many highways and I keep passing this sign for a supposed school called the University of Richmond, and I wonder to myself whoever would want to go to a place like that? Holla if you are up the richmond way, maybe if Torrey comes down the durham way I'll hitch with him and visit!

;o)
