Jason the Fish

The much anticipated moment, when Jason would finally have the confidence to swim on his own, finally happened a couple of weeks ago.  Despite trying to convince him all summer to do this, even forcing him to tread water a few times just to show him he could, he refused and refused.  It once again went to prove that I cannot MAKE this kid do anything.  He must do it on his own terms.  So, the night that we lost his floatie (how convenient!) and I decided to just sit on the side instead of swimming with him, he did this:
