While my own father is down in Charlotte eating delicious paella (miss you, Dad!), we have been having a fun-filled day in Durham celebrating Tony. We started off with a 5:30am wake-up call from our second-born, and by 6:15am the whole family piled into bed to say "Happy Father's Day". While Tony played with the kids, I whipped up some breakfast: Sausage (turkey!) and hashbrown omelets and sour cream pancakes with strawberries. No need for IHOP or Bob Evans around here! Jason took a post-breakfast nap (necessary when you get up at the butt-crack of dawn), and the rest of us go dressed for a day at the park.
We spent the better part of today at
Pullen Park in Raleigh, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. It was recently renovated and looked spectacular compared to the last time we were there! We (especially Abbie) had a ball on the playgrounds, walking around the lake, riding the train and carousel and kiddie boats, and eating a fresh and local lunch at the cafe. We will definitely be going back, hopefully before Tony's client appreciation picnic we're planning to have there in the fall.
Tonight, we plan to try a new family Italian restaurant for pizza, then a new fro-yo place for dessert. Then, it's back to the grind (and healthy diet) tomorrow!

Great pics! Wish Tony a happy father's day from us! The gazebo pic reminded me of Austria!
I like your new profile picture. Tony looks like he really enjoyed his father's day. What's not to like, right?
