Here is Baby D at 9 weeks:
At this point, we were just excited that I was pregnant and cautiously looking toward the future and how we would keep this baby in!
Here is Baby D at 12 weeks, looking a bit like an alien:
This was taken a week after my cerclage procedure. While we were still nervous at this point, the successful surgery put me more at ease, and Baby D was more active than ever. I can now happily take walks and continue most normal activities, except for strenuous exercise and heavy lifting.
Today, we got some BIG NEWS. It was our 6th ultrasound, and we had high hopes that our super-sweet ultrasound tech would take a moment to check out the baby's gender, even though we're not scheduled for that until April. Well, as she was checking out the stuff she needed for this appointment, she flashed up there, and quickly pulled away and said, "You guys definitely want to know?". And, we said, "YES!". She moved back up and said, "There's no question about it, I'm 100% sure, it's a ______!" (see below)
BOY!!
I'm not going to lie. I'm a little nervous. But, now that we know, I'm excited to start planning the nursery and all. Luckily, I have at least 20 more weeks of imagining myself as the mother of a little boy before he arrives. I'll happily take suggestions and advice from any friends who have been raising boys in the last few years. :)
