Part two of Christmas was spent in Maryland with Tony's family. The drive up was a miserable 9 hours with our two kitties who tolerated it fairly well (after Roxie puked on the emergency brake). Luckily, the drive back was much less eventful at just under 6.5 hours. While in MD, we spent Christmas Eve with the Myers side of the family and Christmas Day night with friends of the family. Christmas morning was full of presents galore and a yummy breakfast. We even got some flurries on Christmas Day, and a little more the next day, although it was nothing compared to the 6 inches that fell in Durham while we were gone (can't believe I missed that!). It was good that we didn't get bogged down in snow, though, because it allowed us a Sunday morning visit with Tara and Kelvin, who drove up from DC to see us.
Highlights from the enormous amount of gifts included some new instruments for Abbie (she especially likes the marching drum), and a 42" TV for us (well, mostly for Tony, who set it up and is watching a movie on it tonight).
We would have liked to get together with Tony's high school friends while we were up there, too, but felt overwhelmed/exhausted of all of the bustle that the holidays bring and just couldn't convince ourselves to go out our last night in town. Speaking of overwhelming... 7 loads of laundry came home with us yesterday, and they have haunted me all day today. The last load is finally in the dryer!

the Santa pic is hilarious! Abbie looks like such a lady in the last pic :). we loved catching up with you and wish we lived closer..
