Summer is coming to an end

I'm not going to lie. I've been totally sucking at being a stay-at-home-mom and housewife for a few weeks. We're talking severe lack of patience (some warranted, some not), emotional exhaustion that seemed unending, complete lack of drive to clean ANYTHING, and lots more eating out than usual.
Meanwhile, we went on a vacation (kids had a blast, I relaxed some, but remained short-tempered due to lack of sleep)...

and the kids then spent a week at an awesome nature day-camp, where they got super dirty and learned really cool stuff.

Lucky for me (and the kids!), I seem to be coming out of my funk this week. And thank goodness, because school starts next week, and I'd hate to have spent the last full week of summer together feeling, well, crappy.

This week so far, we have had family swim practice at the gym (hopefully a regular Sunday activity this year), I took the kids to try out another splash park (less awesome than the first), and we spent some glorious hours at the pool.  Abbie's dance classes have begun, Jason starts his next level of gymnastics tomorrow, Abbie starts her new at-home piano lessons, and we get to meet the kids' new school teachers.  I think we'll find some more pool time to ride out the rest of this week and hope my better mood continues!
